Working From Home: How Profitable Is It?

Working From Home: How Profitable Is It?

    By: Andre Yamashita

Dear reader, I'm about to share with you some facts that I learnt throughout my life and changed the way I think about earning money to live well, enjoy life, and provide everything my family need. Maybe you already know most of the things I'll write here, but I really hope you can enjoy reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it, and, most importantly, I hope it can help you making decisions about your future.

So, people who are unable to find a job, due to financial crisis, recessions or whatever don't really have many options than looking for something to bring the money home other than working on their own. At this point, these people have several alternatives to choose: they can open some kind of business, exploiting some knowledge they have, like teaching Math to High School kids, or selling home-made Chocolate, they can start doing some informal work, like fixing electronic products, among other options.

There is also another option that may not be so evident on a first glance: people who own a computer and have some general knowledge on how to use it, as in using the Internet, using e-mails, creating blog posts, have a very powerful tool to fight recession and make a considerable amount of money, with a relatively low effort and genuinely low investment.

I'm talking about starting an Internet Marketer "career", choosing and promoting a product from some affiliate program and earning commissions based on sales performance. This is a real possibility and, believe me, many people use Internet Marketing as their primary income stream. However, as in any other business, the start is always difficult. Even if you don't have to make a huge investment to rent or buy a place to open your store or work location (domains and hosting plans, your Internet business "address", can be purchased for as low as $10 a month), you still need some time to make it run smooth.

Many people who start their Internet business make the terrible mistake of relying on the price and quality of the affiliate program to make money. This belief leads them to jump from an affiliate program to another every time they fail making money, generating more expenses, frustration and anger. The fact is: succeeding in making money online doesn't come from choosing the right affiliate program, but rather from learning how to promote products and services on your own, from becoming a good marketer, from polishing your advertising skills.

With this in mind, investing some money on your Internet marketing tuition isn't a bad idea. On the contrary, it will allow you to create a solid knowledge base, than can be used to promote any product and to profit from any affiliate program you decide to join.
